staycity group takes wilde to bordeaux as part of innovative canopia developments

DUBLIN, THURSDAY 15th February 2024: Leading European aparthotel operator Staycity Group is to take its premium Wilde Aparthotels brand to France for the first time as part of an innovative ‘urban haute couture’ development in Bordeaux’s Canopia district, piloted by the Apsys group.

The 70,000m2 mixed-use Canopia development, designed by French architectural agency Maison Edouard François, will consist of commercial, leisure and residential space with a strong focus on sustainability and full use made of indoor/outdoor living. The district will be crossed by the meridian, a pedestrian and tree-lined link between the train station and the Garonne, lined with 235 trees. At the end of this alley, on the banks of the river, a two-hectare park will replace some of the current motorway interchange.

The 113-apartment Wilde Aparthotel, under development by Paris-based real estate and property developer Apsys, will include a stunning rooftop restaurant, bar, restaurant, guest lounge, laundry room, luggage storage and 24-hour reception. It is scheduled for completion in 2026.

“We are excited to be working alongside Apsys as part of this project in the beautiful and popular city of Bordeaux,” commented Staycity Group development director Barry Hickey. “We have successfully operated aparthotels in a number of French cities for several years now, and remain keen to expand our estate further in France, as well as in other key destinations across Europe.”

Staycity operates nearly 6,000-apartments across 32 locations in five European countries with six sites in France - Bordeaux, Lyon, Marseille and three in Paris. The group has Wilde Aparthotels in Berlin, Edinburgh, London and Manchester with further locations opening this year in London and Amsterdam, and next year in Cambridge in the UK, Porto and Lisbon in Portugal and Munich in Germany. http://www.staycity.com
